Whether youíre presenting to a small team of people, a boardroom full of VIPs or hundreds, even thousands, in a large auditorium. Whether youíre on your own, using notes, reading an autocue, backed up by slides or video, there are simple techniques that can make your presentation work.
The point is to get your message across and, of course, to look and sound great.
After 30 years of helping hundreds of presenters, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my top tips for effective presentations with you over the coming months. Iíve put together a set of 10; some tips you will know, others will sound deceptively simple, and some wonít.
We all need advice and help when it comes to presentations, as industrialist Sir George Jessel put it: “The human brain starts working the moment you are born and never stops until you stand up to speak in public.”
