Whether you’re presenting to a small team of people, a boardroom full of VIPs or hundreds, even thousands, in a large auditorium. Whether you’re on your own, using notes, reading an autocue, backed up by slides or video, there are simple techniques that can make your presentation work.

The point is to get your message across and, of course, to look and sound great.

After 30 years of helping hundreds of presenters, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my top tips for effective presentations with you over the coming months. I’ve put together a set of 10; some tips you will know, others will sound deceptively simple, and some won’t. But I hope they’ll give you key insights into how to hone your presentation skills and also be useful as an aide mémoir that you can download.
